CORPORATE SAFETY VIDEO PRODUCTION JAKARTA: HOW A ONE-YEAR-OLD TDR FILMS EARNED ASTRA’S TRUST

Written by Yudi Suarbawa / 5 Minutes Read

TDR FILMS delivers corporate safety video production Jakarta companies can rely on, and the clearest proof is a project most young production houses never get near: a safety video inside Menara Astra for Astra International, one of Indonesia’s largest diversified conglomerates. TDR FILMS was barely a year into operating when this project landed. A brand the size of Astra does not hand safety content to an unproven crew. That content protects real people inside a real building. We had to earn that trust fast.

WHY A SAFETY VIDEO IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF BRIEF

A brand video can afford a little creative interpretation. A safety video cannot. Every evacuation route has to be accurate. Every instruction and every piece of signage has to match reality. The people watching rely on it during an actual emergency. Getting a detail wrong is not a creative miss. It is a real risk.

WHAT TDR FILMS BUILT: CORPORATE SAFETY VIDEO PRODUCTION JAKARTA AT MENARA ASTRA

Menara Astra is Astra International’s Jakarta headquarters tower. It houses thousands of employees across the group’s automotive, financial services, and heavy equipment divisions. A building at that scale needs safety content that a first-day employee can follow. It also needs to satisfy the facilities and HSE teams who sign off on it.

TDR FILMS built the video around that exact balance. It had to be simple enough to watch and understand. It also had to match Astra’s own internal safety procedures precisely. Our team worked directly with the building’s facilities staff first. We verified every evacuation point and procedure before a single frame rolled, not after.

INSIDE A 63-FLOOR BUILDING: WHY SCALE CHANGES THE BRIEF

Menara Astra rises 63 floors above Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, standing 261.5 meters tall. The tower includes a 1,000-person conference hall. Office floors above it serve Astra’s automotive, financial services, and heavy equipment divisions. International tenants share the same building, including a foreign embassy and Daikin Indonesia’s regional headquarters. A structure at that scale has evacuation routes most single-floor facilities never need. Stairwells, refuge floors, and assembly points all had to appear correctly on screen, not approximately.

HOW TDR FILMS BUILDS SAFETY VIDEO FROM THE GROUND UP

We start every safety video with the document, not the camera. Facilities teams hand over evacuation plans and existing procedures first. We cross-check those documents on site before filming begins. A stairwell that looks correct on paper sometimes works differently in practice. Walking the actual route catches that gap early.

Scripting comes next, and it stays plain. Safety instructions fail when they sound like marketing copy. We write for the slowest reader in the room, not the fastest. We test every instruction against one question. Could a new employee follow it on day one, under stress, without watching twice?

Filming itself moves in a strict order. Wide shots establish the space first. Detail shots cover signage, controls, and equipment a viewer needs to recognize instantly. We never dramatize an evacuation for effect. The footage has to work exactly the way the real event would. We never add tension that could mislead anyone watching it.

WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERED FOR TDR FILMS

Most young production houses start with brand films and social content. Corporate safety work usually comes years later, once there’s a track record. Astra trusting TDR FILMS with safety content in year one compressed that timeline considerably. It meant showing the discipline of a much older production house, right from day one.

TDR FILMS applies that same discipline across the city. See our complete guide to corporate video production in Jakarta for more.

WHY CORPORATE SAFETY VIDEO PRODUCTION JAKARTA MATTERS FOR OTHER LARGE COMPANIES

Safety and compliance video is not glamorous work. It is some of the highest-trust work a production house ever takes on. A company evaluating a safety or compliance video partner is really testing one thing. Can this partner handle accuracy under real stakes.

Indonesian companies operate under Law No. 1 of 1970 on Occupational Safety, the country’s foundational workplace safety statute. Facilities and HSE teams take that obligation seriously, not as paperwork. A safety video is often the clearest proof employees ever see that those procedures actually work. Getting it wrong does not just look bad. It leaves a real gap in how people respond during an emergency.

TDR FILMS built that trust with Astra at the very start of our history. We bring that same standard of accuracy to every safety and compliance project since.
